ONCE AGAIN IT'S ON: Jay-Z Heads Out For Another Summer Tour....With Justin Timberlake Posted: 22 Feb 2013 08:04 AM PST The Carter household is going to be one busy place this summer.  Not only will Beyonce be on her Mrs. Carter World Tour...but now her husband Jay-Z is about to roll out for a Legends of the Summer tour with Justin Timberlake.   Deets inside... Last summer he had mad fun touring with Kanye West on the Watch The Throne tour.  Now, LiveNation has announced that Hov will rock 12 stadium performances with his "Suit & Tie" homie Justin Timberlake as JT promotes his upcoming 20/20 Experience album dropping next month. The twosome--who have been in this game for over 2 decades--have 23 Grammy Awards, 67 million albums sold and two Emmys combined.  So they came up with a fitting name for the tour. It's called the LEGENDS OF THE SUMMER tour and it will kick off July 17th in Toronto, Ontario at the Roger's Centre and continue through August 16th in Miami at Sun Life Stadium. They're taking their talents to San Francisco, Vancouver, Detroit, Baltimore, and Philadelphia and performing in legendary stadiums like Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Rose Bowl and Candlestick Park. Tickets for all dates except New York (that announcement coming soon) go on sale to the public on Thursday, February 28th at LiveNation.com. See what's going on in the world of Daddyhood for Wiz inside......    Wiz and Amber are basking in the afterglow of parenthood right now and the first time father seems excited about everything!  He's tweeting about his son's first day on earth, his first meal, his naps and his first poop! Chrisette Michele, Nick Cannon AND Rasheeda & Kirk All TAKE OVER "KONTROL" COVERS Posted: 22 Feb 2013 06:42 AM PST Despite landing the cover of KONTROL Magazine, Chrisette Michele had a rough week that included a trip to the hospital.  Find out what happened inside and see her, Nick Cannon plus "LAHH ATL" stars Rasheeda and Kirk on their own covers of KONTROL.   In the March/April issue of KONTROL, Chrisette Michele commands the cover and uses the interview to establish her independence as an artist.  She talks about how she felt once she realized the industry was stripping away her individuality and how she reclaimed herself.  She said, “My weakest moment in my musical career came when I almost decided to leave the industry completely because I didn’t know that I could say no and do things on my own. I relied on the ‘experts’ to tell me what I needed and I thought maybe I wasn’t strong enough to say no.” Though Chrisette was able to find her inner voice and take KONTROL, one thing she couldn't control her appendix.  She was forced to cancel an appearance in NY's Times Square this week following a hospital visit to treat a ruptured appendix.  OUCH. Fortunately, she's okay now.   Following a speedy recovery, she'll join Keyshia Cole on the Woman to Woman Tour starting on March 28 in Westbury, New York where she'll also promote her upcoming album Better (April 30th). And.....   Nick Cannon also landed his own KONTROL cover for the March/April issue.  Inside the mag, he opens up about his marriage to Mariah Carey as well as his health concerns regarding his kidneys.  And he gives sweet fatherly advice to his kiddies.  Here are the highlights: Nick’s take on fashion “I believe fashion is all about making a statement. Whenever you put something on as long as it’s saying something…You play with colors and textures it’s all about really just making that statement.” And when the topic of designers comes up? Cannon says without hesitation, “Right now I’d have to go with Tom Ford. The fact that he kind of goes over the top but still knows how to keep it classy.” His advice for Roc and Roe Roe: “If you respect yourself, [men] will respect you. As soon as you give away your dignity, whatever you believe that to be, that’s when people will start to treat you as such. Roc: “Go hard! Simple. Whatever it is. Just don’t be mediocre at anything. Anything you try, try to be the best you can possible be.” For Nick's cover, he was shot by Jonavennci Divad and styled by Julian Lark. Kelly Rowland, LaLa Anthony, Lauren London, Oprah Winfrey & MORE Attend The Sixth Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Awards Luncheon Posted: 22 Feb 2013 05:54 AM PST The 6th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon was held yesterday afternoon drawing out Oprah Winfrey, Naomi Campbell, Kelly Rowland, Lauren London and many more. See photos inside.... Oprah Winfrey was among the many high power celebrities who attended the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel earlier yesterday.   It was an event that tops the list of the YBF folks during Oscar season, and is a lovefest for all involved.  Clearly O was trying out a new 'do....that we're not feeling.   At the event, Oprah was honored alongside five other special guests-- Alfre Woodard, Gabrielle Union, producer and TV writer Mara Brock Akil, Naomie Harris and Quvenzhané Wallis. She even brought her "daughters" as she calls them from her school in Africa. "Beasts of the Southern WIld" star Quvenzhané Wallis was honored during the event with a super cute floral dress and her staple puppy purse. Supermodel Naomi Campbell, who's currently starring in "The Face", showed off her amazing legs and skin in a flirty white dress.  Holly Robinson Peete looked great.   TV personality Shaun Robinson wore fushcia cocktail dress.  And we just found out this woman turned 50 last July.  50!  She looks AMAZING.  And needs to write a book on how to look like you're still in your 30's at 50. Kelly Rowland showed off her tiny waist line. Producer Tracey Edmonds chose an animal print for the event. Star Jones, who's travels the country speaking out about heart disease, wore red (maybe she wanted to draw attention to the cause...hopefully).  Red fur is very rarely ok. KeKe Palmer is headed to the small screen as Chilli in the upcoming TLC biopic for VH1. Regina Hall will soon appear in The Best Man sequel. Jill Scott looked trim in her leather pants and blazer. Garcelle Beauvais wore a puffy teal gown. "Being Mary Jane" star Gabrielle Union was also there to support Mara in a vintage Versace look.  Rapper Common posed on the carpet. "ET" host Rocsi Diaz switched it up and walked the press line instead of being behind the mic.  LOVE these pants. "Happily Divorced" star Tichina Arnold was there.  This distressed denim blazer though.... "The Game" star Lauren London came out to support her show creator Mara Brock Akil who as an honoree. Kelly Rowland posed with Jeanette Jenkins and Mara Brock Akil herself. Jurnee Smollet, who's starring in the Tyler Perry sizzler, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, made her rounds. "Deception" star Meagan Good looked amazing wearing Christiane King. Alfre Woodard arrived with husband Roderick Spencer. Anika Noni-Rose wore a beautiful Carmen Marc Valvo dress. Remember when we peeped Loretta Devine with Newport on the red carpet?  This time...she's got someone's business card in her hand.  Always multi-tasking.... We would have LOVED for Jill Marie Jones, Persia White and Golden Brooks to have met up with Tracy Ellis Ross for a "Girlfriends" reunion on the carpet to honor show producer Mara Brock Akil. "Necessary Roughness" star Mehcad Brooks came out to support the sistahs. Niecy Nash was all smiles in her glittery pants. Michael Ealy looked sexy....as usual. Naomie Harris, one of the most recent Bond girls (Skyfall) looked amazing. "Second Generation Wayans" star Tatyana Ali wore Brian Atwood shoes and tweeted, "Shout out to my@brian_atwood Bs. They secretly made me very happy." "Eureka" star Salli Richardson-Whitfield stepped from behind the lens for a walk for the press line. Jeanette also posed with Tia and a post-baby voluptious Tamara Mowry.  Not loving this dress Tia as it does nothing for your cute bod.   Wendy Raquel Robinson joined LaLa, Kelly, Jeanette and Lauren at their table. Photographer Mariano Vivanco snapped Rihanna in her sexy short cut and checkered blue & white crop top for the April 2013 cover of Elle UK.  The leak hit the net earlier today, and will hit stands soon. Beyonce Joins Husband Jay-Z At Warner For Major Global Publishing Deal Posted: 21 Feb 2013 04:13 PM PST Not one to be shown up by her hubby, Beyonce just nabbed her own global publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music.  Just one day after Jay-Z made his own announcement.   Deets inside.... It's one thing to make your cash with albums and tours but it's a while other to lock in long term consistent money that comes whether you're working or not.  Singer/songwriter Beyonce knows the deal, so she just signed her own global publishing deal with a publishing powerhouse It’s an honor to join Warner/Chappell Music and to continue working with my friend Jon Platt,” commented Beyoncé in the Warner/Chappell announcement release. “I trust his vision and admire his professionalism, and I look forward to our partnership.” Jay-Z signed a similar deal for himself and his Roc Nation artists to gain compensation for their writing.  Billboard reports: Beyoncé has signed a global publishing agreement with Warner/Chappell Music, Billboard has learned exclusively. Effective immediately, Warner/Chappell -- headed by chairman/CEO Cameron Strang -- will administer the 17-time Grammy winner’s future songwriting, including her anticipated next album. .... Beyoncé is the latest high-profile addition to the Warner/Chappell roster. Earlier this week, it was announced that Jay-Z and his Roc Nation firm had also signed worldwide publishing administration deals with the publishing company. In addition to Mike Will Made It, who co-produced Kanye West’s hit single “Mercy,” recent Warner/Chappell signings include the acquisition of Miramax’s film music catalog. Posted: 21 Feb 2013 03:21 PM PST Finally!  Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose are officially parents to their brand new baby boy--Sebastian Taylor Thomaz!  Wiz's first words as a proud dad inside... After a false labor alarm yesterday, it was all systems-a-go today.  "Up" rapper Wiz Khalifa--real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz--just announced that fiancee' Amber Rose has delivered the couple's first child. We're sure their little one is a major cutie and we hope to get a peek soon. Congrats to the new parents and Happy Birthday baby Sebastian!

Guests included Regina King, Aisha Tyler, Adepero Oduye and Chandra Wilson.  And Zoe Saldana offered up her good friend Kerry a few kisses. Oprah Winfrey and Viola Davis were amongst the fabulous well wishers who honored Ms. Carroll before sitting down to an intimate four-course dinner prepared by Chef Emma Coriz and paired with Rémy Martin cocktails.  Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry wore a sexy black cocktail dress to the Cinema Sistahs Soiree.  And over the weekend, Halle will likely be among the attendees at this Sunday's Oscar telecast where Kerry has also just been announced as a presenter.     And in LA....  Tia and Tamera Mowry were spotted at Spago for an ESSENCE Magazine event (sponsored by Target) where they posed with the mag's entertainment director, Cori Murray as well as Mikki Taylor. Wiz Is In Scrubs, Hints Amber Rose IS IN LABOR (For Real This Time) Posted: 21 Feb 2013 01:00 PM PST After reports flew around the net yesterday that Amber Rose was in labor, all because of Wiz's Instagram pic of a featl heart monitor, Amber shot that rumor down immediately.   But it looks like it's REAL this time with papa-to-be Wiz tweeting a pic in his scrubs.  Deets inside.... Rapper Wiz Khalifa posted a pic of himself minutes ago in his scrubs saying, "Daddy time."  So it looks like Baby Wizbud is on the way....for real this time. Amber posted yesterday that she wasn't in labor....yet.  And her due date is February 24th.  But it's not out of the ordinary for the baby to come a few days early.  We're wishing Good Luck to the twosome!

Kerry Washington & Craig Robinson's New "Tyler Perry Presents PEEPLES" Promos + Mel B. Nabs New Judging Seat Posted: 21 Feb 2013 12:00 PM PST Kerry Washington, who is presenting at this Sunday's Oscars, is staying in movie theaters year around.  Check out her movie poster & promo for her upcoming romantic comedy flick, plus Mel B. is newest "America's Got Talent" judge... It seems like she never takes a break, and has a movie in theaters at all times, as well as a hit show on ABC.  "Scandal" star Kerry Washington's new film, Tyler Perry Presents Peeples--formerly Tina Gordon Chism's We The Peeples--is hitting theaters May 10th.  And the up close and personal promo posters were just released. Here's the full synopsis of the flick, all about a man enduring a weekend from hell to impress his girlfriend's family: Wade Walker is eager to propose to his girlfriend, Grace Peeples. But after a year of living together, the beautiful, successful Grace is still cagey about introducing average guy Wade to her ambitious, upper crust family. So when Grace leaves for an annual reunion at her parents’ swanky Sag Harbor compound, Wade decides to crash the gathering, charm his soon-to-be in-laws and slip a ring on Grace’s finger. However Wade's plans go hilariously awry when he meets the high-powered, seemingly picture-perfect family who’ll do whatever it takes to keep up appearances. Wade soon finds himself caught in a web of white lies and comic dysfunction, and realizes that his only hope of ever marrying Grace means a take-no-prisoners face-off with Judge Peeples, Grace’s disapproving dad who won’t accept anything less than the very best for his favorite daughter. Craig Robinson as Kerry's love interest?  Hilar. Kerry & Craig's co-stars include David Alan Grier, S. In other news of new gigs, Mel B. is back at the judge's table.  NBC's "America's Got Talent" is losing Sharon Osburne, but gaining Spice Girl Mel B. Entertainment Weekly reports: Spice Girl Mel B (aka Melanie Brown) will join the summer reality hit’s judging panel. She’ll take a seat beside Howard Stern and Howie Mandel critiquing the show’s wild variety of performers. The pop singer has live competition show experience having served as a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor as well as guest hosted on the show’s UK version. Say what you want, but this mom of three keeps herself a job.  Loves it.

HARD BODIES: Kelly Rowland, Vanessa Williams, Jurnee Smollett & More JOIN Jeanette Jenkins For YogaSculpt WORKOUT Posted: 21 Feb 2013 10:27 AM PST Jeanette Jenkins teamed with Nike and Essence recently to promote healthier living in the community and she was joined by Kelly Rowland, Vanessa Williams and a few other hard bodied brown girls.  See the photos inside.... For the third year in a row, famed trainer to fab chicks like Kelly Rowland and other stars, Jeanette Jenkins, teamed with Nike and Essence to host the "YogaSculpt Workout" which was a part of the festivities celebrating the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. Jeanette was flanked by some of Hollywood's most beautiful faces including Kelly Rowland, Vanessa Williams, Holly Robinson Peete, Jurnee Smollett and Anika Noni Rose.  And clearly these tight and tones ladies know how to get their workout on. Kelly was in the front row providing "Motivation." The ladies introduced a new shoe called the "Nike Studio Wrap" which is great for yoga, sculpting or dance workouts.  And Gold Medal winning gymnast Shawn Johnson, who Jeanette's training for a Nike half marathon, got suited up in the fab shoes too.  Also, Nike trainer Patrick Goudeau posed with the ladies. Actress Emayatzy Corinealdi, who starred in the Sundance film "Middle of Nowhere" posed with Jeanette.    And Kelly Rowland (who posed with Jurnee) has become quite the social media maven.  She did the live Fitness Twitter Chat to help motivate followers so they could be part of the experience.  A while back, she also live tweeted from a Super Bowl event.
